Biography
Lucy Betancourt is a professional makeup artist from Mexico and the winner of the 2025 Ariel Award for Best Makeup for her work on the film adaptation of Pedro Páramo.
She has collaborated on and led numerous international productions as a makeup and hair designer for film, television, and commercial projects. Her credits include Madame Web (2023), Bardo (2022), Narcos: Mexico (2019–2021), La Casa de las Flores (2020), and Spectre (2015), among others.
Lucy began her professional career after attending the College of Fine Arts in Vancouver, Canada. Since then, she has developed a strong professional identity built on creative vision, comprehensive character design, the direction and management of makeup teams, and a deep commitment to her craft.
Projects
Lucy’s work spans international film, television and commercial productions, collaborating with leading studios and platforms including Paramount, Netflix, Apple TV+, MGM and Marvel.
From character design to on-set makeup and hair, she brings a creative and highly collaborative approach to every project.
